Biography:

Sara McKarney is a preparator, arts administrator, and practicing artist. Her practice explores ideas of place, focusing on how memories and personal objects relate to the concept of home. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and found-space locations across Canada and internationally. She received a Fine Arts Diploma from MacEwan University in 2008, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Lethbridge in 2010, and completed a Preparatorial Work Study through The Banff Centre in 2012. Currently she holds the position of Exhibitions Manager at the Art Gallery of Alberta after working as a contract based preparator for 5 years.
